Bring a specific goal
Describe what you are building or trying to understand, the technology involved and what you have already attempted. Do not include employer secrets, customer information, passwords, proprietary source code or other confidential material.
Learning support, not outsourced work
A coding tutor can explain concepts, review learner-created code, demonstrate small examples and help diagnose problems. They should not secretly complete an assessment or impersonate the learner.
Evaluate technical experience
Ask about recent hands-on experience with the relevant technology and request an explanation of how sessions will work. Agree directly on scope, rate, intellectual-property expectations, cancellations and payment.
